In 2004, seven producers came together with a common vision and a passion. They wanted to start a company which had a strict focus to holistically produce the very best beef in the US. This beef was to be recognized and sought after by chefs and beef connoisseurs for the unique flavor, tenderness, and health benefits Wagyu beef naturally provide.
In 2005, Imperial Wagyu Beef was born. The seven partners are a unique group of individuals, each with years of experience and expertise spanning across all aspects of the beef industry such as; genetics, cattle nutrition, cow/calf production, feeding, and harvesting.
In 2006, Imperial Wagyu Beef® was recognized by USDA as the first Certified Wagyu Beef brand in the USA.

The Genetic Backbone
From the beginning, the partners have invested in owning carefully selected, authentic Wagyu genetics from legendary Japanese bloodlines.
The selected, authentic bloodlines came from the most highly recognized full-blood Wagyu genetics which are known to produce consistenly marbled, flavorful, and tender, velvety textures beef. Wagyu genetics are carefully traced by the breed Registry to meticulously track and maintain the breed linage for overall performance information.
Strategic Supply - Imperial Wagyu Farms
We strive to build strategic, sustainable partnerships with farms committed to producing to the brand standards. Imperial Wagyu Beef has built strong relationships with cattle producers who have the same desire and passion as its partners. All producers must adhere to strict feeding, management, production, and animal care standards. Our aligned and strategically coordinated production system enables us to maintain a known and ratable supply of cattle year round without buying meat from other production systems.

Our Commitment to "All Natural"
At Imperial Wagyu Beef, we are committed toward producing the highest quality beef using holistic and natural production methods through all phases of production.
As part of a holistic production system, all cattle are vaccinated on the farm to protect against and prevent disease. Additionally, our cattle are handled with care throughout the entire production system.
Most of our cattle are raised on lush green vistas before entering our long, slow feeding phase.
Imperial Wagyu cattle are ALWAYS and ONLY fed an ALL VEGETARIAN diet, and are NEVER EVER given GROWTH HORMONES, STIMULANTS, or ANTIOBIOTICS.
Additionally, we feed our cattle slowly for over 400 days promotes the production of highly marbled, velvety textured Wagyu beef.
Our Product Selection
At Imperial Wagyu Beef, we strive to clearly communicate quality differences. To segregate differences in marbling quality, we use the Japanese Beef Marbling Standards (BMS) scale instead of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Grading Standards scale.
To make sure each of our strict quality standards are being adhered to, we personally oversee the harvest, grading, fabrication, packaging each and every time we process.

In June 2009, Imperial Wagyu Beef started the process of using DNA Traceability from IdentiGEN® to be assured the products delivered were true to their promise and expectation.
